If you still fly X-plane version 6, you need to make room on your hard-drive for version 7.63 or 8.64 to fly this beauty. Quite simply the x737 is recognized as one one the best planes ever built for the X-plane simulator. The aircraft is available in 3 variants, the BBJ, 737-700 and 737-800. An extensive POH and Fuel Planner are also a part of the download along with several liveries, with more available on the authors website.
Benedikt Stratmann and Pierre Stone are the project leaders, and you'll find liveries by Dennis Prefer, Safeflight and Albert Mahily. The x737 has a truly lifelike sophisticated panel modeled after the 737NG. This is NOT your average plane that you get in, fire up, and fly. You'll need the read the POH to understand the autopilot and fuel systems completely before operating the aircraft.
The x737 is a plug-in driven aircraft and the author's talents have certainly exploited the technology. 
The MCP (mode control panel) for the autopilot is just one example. The operation is as close as one can archive to the Boeing system, using X-Plane. It features FLCH, Auto Throttle, Baro VNAV, APP, LOC modes that work as advertised.
While the current version is for X-Plane 8.64, you can still download the previous version which is compatible with x-Plane 7.63 at the x737 project website. The aircraft is available for Mac, Windows and Linux, and is completely free. If you like to fly medium size transports or large class business jets, the x737 should be in your hangar!
