X-Plane Classic

Most of you X-Plane old timers are familiar with the birth of X-plane. For those who are not, Austin began development while in college working towards his Bachelors in Aerospace Engineering at Iowa State. He had 300 hours as a private pilot and was working summers at a small aerospace company in LaJolla, CA.

Not entirely happy with MSFS, he knew he would hit a brick wall trying to talk Microsoft into making changes, so he decided to create a sim of his own. An engineer by education, pilot by hobby, and a programmer by profession, he figured he had all 3 disciplines that one would need to create a sim and X-Plane was born.

Today X-Plane is the world's most comprehensive, powerful flight simulator, and has the most realistic flight model available for personal computers.

This area contains links to classic versions of X-Plane 5, 6 and 7. As we continue to re-engineer the site, this is where you will find many resources for those versions.

Please Note: You will need an X-Plane unlock CD to use these downloads past the standard demo time of 6 minutes. Classic versions of X-Plane can be usuallly found for sale on eBay. Laminar Research no longer provides unlock CD's or future updates for these versions.

X-Plane Classic Aircraft & Scenery

NYEXPRO 7	NYEXPRO 7 by Robet Bunce is a must have for all X-Plane enthusiasts! Includes scenery for over 225 airports and is available in .env or .dsf formats. Robert is the original trailblazer of X-Plane scenery on a mass basis. It's thanks to him that our airports came alive in the version 6 and 7 era.
Peregrine Imagineering	Many of my favorite aircraft developed for X-Plane. My focus is on acurately recreating unique and special aircraft, and on making working recreations of fictional aircraft, such as from Science Fiction. I try to build stuff that no one else yet offers.

X-Plane Irish Hub	Add-on aircraft and scenery for X-Plane with an Irish flavour, including Aer Lingus aircraft and photo-realistic terrain textures for the city of Dublin and associated areas. Also details of the improved Irish and other airports.

XWS	XWS (X-Worldsceneries) is a company dedicated to develop high quality sceneries and aircrafts for X-plane. EMB 312 Tucano and T-25 Universal.
N52 E09	Web site of Christian Bothe the download location and homepage for his X-Plane add-ons. These include new city replacement textures, snow textures and Hannover Scenery.
OKB TvKP	OKB TvKP is dedicated to the production of models of world aircraft. Current plans include Tupelov, MiG & Sukhoi Russian/Soviet aircraft.

Tazbert Air	Tazbert Air is an XP V6 plane design house working mainly on fast movers. Includes the XB70 Valkyrie.

Andrew's Aircraft for X-Plane	Dedicated to original X-Plane aircraft. Includes Aerospatiale HH-65A 'Dauphin', K-MA 'Aerial Truck' helicopter and Learjet 60.
Harrier Air	Harrier Air is a virtual aircraft manufacturing company making aircraft for X-Plane. Some of their planes are modified downloaded or default X-Plane aircraft, and some will be totally new.
RyanAir	Home of a multitude of custom aircraft designed by Steven Ryan. Original, experimental aircraft. Tricky, but fun to fly.
Global Scenery Project	GloS was an earlier project dedicated to the distribution of world-wide X-Plane scenery and to sharing improvements to the scenery.
XPSRTM	World-wide high definition SRTM terrain elevation data for X-Plane scenery. Check out the screenshots.
DSpotts	Area 51 stuff and other downloads by David Spotts including JObjectTool (Java Object Tool) a cross-platform Java Application for converting objects created with 3D modeling packages into X-Plane OBJv7 format. New York scenery released.
Zephyrus Aerospace	Zephyrus Aerospace is a kind of virtual aircraft manufacturer (I think) established to design & produce original high performance aircraft. First two planes released.
